OTHER SPECIAL FUNDS
Occasionally a donor may wish to make a gift that is intended neither for general operating purposes nor for a very specific purpose that would warrant the establishment of a Restricted Fund. While such gifts normally would be made to the Endowment Fund, a Special Fund may be created if the donor prefers. Such Special Funds are used at the discretion of the Church Council, although, if possible, the donor is consulted about any proposed use. As such, these Funds provide a flexible means to fund special projects or purposes that are beyond the scope of the operating budget or the Restricted Funds. The importance of these funds cannot be overstated: they have represented a major portion of the church's financial assets, and they are often the main source of funding for large projects that cannot be supported by the operating budget.

In Memoriam
-
These are gifts given in memory of deceased family members or others, often used for the purchase of equipment or capital assets. Insofar as possible, the surviving family members are asked to approve the use of these monies. The Financial Secretary separately accounts for each memorial fund.
