I have arisen early today. Far in the distance, a faint glow paints the horizon.
Dawn is coming, gently and full of prayer.
-Small Graces, Kent Newburn

First Day of school. First Day on a new job. First Day can seem scary and nerve wracking. Another way to look at the First Day is “dawn”: the wonder of the earth’s cycles, the beautiful early light, the morning birds—the exciting possibilities that each day holds.

As we emerge from the pandemic, each of us can support FLC in our dawn’s early light: participating in worship and fellowship, welcoming visitors on their First Day, reaching out to our neighbors near and far—thinking of new ways of doing things and new things to do.

As we embark on our 2023 Stewardship Campaign, we invite you to share your gifts for FLC’s First Day—financially, and with your time, talent and prayers.

You who dwell in the shelter of the Lord,
who abide in this shadow for life,
say to the Lord, “My refuge,
my rock in whom I trust.”
And I will raise you up on eagle’s wings,
bear you on the breath of dawn,
make you to shine like the sun,
and hold you in the palm of my hand.
-On Eagle’s Wings, Michael Joncas
