This Spring, we held a lovely intergenerational event about trees, in connection with Arbor and Earth days.

We even had tree climbers. Trees are an important symbol in the bible - (see psalm 1, for example).

We got to hear a book about trees, read to us in a very engaging way.

FLC member Holly is an expert on trees, and gave us a tour of the trees around our church. Awareness was raised about our responsibility to care for trees.

Trees around FLC include: Crape myrtle, Pittosporum, Japanese maple, Coast live oak, Purple leaf plum, Crab apple, Brush cherry, Coast redwood, Chinese pistache and English laurel.

Another recent tree-related event: youth went to Mt Cross high school retreat!

Earlier this Spring was Holy Week. Some of our kids made their own costumes for an Easter Vigil skit.

On Maundy Thursday, there was a lovely meal connected to worship, in remembrance of Christ's command to love one another.

The Easter Eve (Vigil) service starts wit a fire outside, from which we light the paschal candle.

Jill told the story of the Exodus passage through the sea, using fun sound effects

Kids and youth told the story of Ezekiel's Valley of Dry Bones.

On Easter Sunday, we gathered for breakfast before worship, as is our tradition. We had a table of Spanish speakers!

It's lovely to be in our newly remodeled fellowship hall.

Among the treats of Easter Worship: wonderful music by the choir, and a brass quartet of Stanford students
