Special giving opportunities with our partners in ministry.

We’re not in ministry on our own

Each month we lift up one of our ministry partners and encourage designated gifts to them that go above our general offering.  These are announced in our newsletter or bulletin. Sometimes we invite a representative to share news about their work. We participate in other ways besides monetary gifts. Click on the images and logos below for more information about these partners.

These Called to Care gifts may be made via PayPal on our “give” page here, or mail a check to First Lutheran at 600 Homer Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94301, Attn: Financial Secretary.  Whether you use PayPal or check, please indicate the recipient of your gift.

During Easter Season 2025, extra gifts support the Ecumenical Hunger Program in East Palo Alto.
During the first part of Summer, 2025 extra gifts go to support our sister congregation in El Salvador, Rios de Agua Viva.
During the second half of Summer, 2025 extra gifts go to support ministries of the ELCA (national church) and Sierra Pacific Synod (regional church).
In Fall of 2025, our extra gifts will go the Immigrant Accompaniment Fund.
And now, gift designees from earlier this year ….
During Winter 2025, our extra gifts were divided between ReconcilingWorks and ELM.
During January and Lent 2025, our gifts were given to support California wildfire relief and to help provide clean drinking water to people on a Navajo reservation.
