Please welcome our guest musicians, cellist August Lee and pianist Hyunji Park, this Sunday. August previously offered a musical offering at our church about two years ago, and many of us were deeply inspired by his music at that time. We are delighted to welcome him back. For this visit, we carefully selected the repertoire together to reflect the spirit of the Lenten season. The program features reflective and meditative music appropriate for this time of prayer and contemplation. You will hear the following pieces: For prelude, Andante from Sonata in G minor for Cello and Piano, Op. 19 by Sergei Rachmaninoff; for offertory, Élégie, Op. 24 by Gabriel Fauré; and during communion, Nocturne in D minor, Op. 19, No. 4 for cello and piano by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. We hope this will be a musically rich and meaningful time for all of us. During this Lenten season, may this music guide us into deeper reflection as we remember the call to prayer, repentance, fasting, forgiveness, and the renewal of our hearts.
Sincerely,
Jung Jin
